Description: The Estes Marte MK 2 model rocket kit #1940 is a semi scale model of the Italien air to ship missile. It was produced only from 1985 through 1986 with black paper hang tag. The multi color facecard shows a Marte MK 2 missile in flight over water after being launched from a helicopter.
The Marte MK 2 is rated as a skill level 3 kit. It is powered by standard 18mm engines and Estes estimates that the rocket is capable of flights up to 1000 feet with a C engine. The rocket uses a 12" parachute for safe recovery.
Kit Contents: The kit contains three body tubes, balsa nose cone, balsa adapter, die cut balsa for fins, 18mm engine mount with centering rings, paper adapter ring set, decal sheet, clay weight, launch lug and instruction sheet.
Availability: Locating a Marte MK2 on eBay should not be difficult. This kit is moderately common even though it was offered for only two catalog years.
