Description: The Estes Ranger model rocket kit #1955 was produced from 1986 through 1989 with plastic black hang tag and a blue sky background facecard showing the Ranger in flight.

The Ranger is a simple build and I must wonder why Estes rates it at skill level 2. It is powered by a 24mm D engine and Estes estimates that the sport rocket is capable of flights up to 1200 feet. The rocket uses a 18" parachute for safe recovery but with 1200 feet altitudes, one should consider a 12" parachute for windy days.

Estes Ranger kit #1955 should not be confused with the Astron Ranger K-6 kit produced from 1963 through 1971.

Kit Contents: The kit contains a main body tube, plastic nose cone, die cut balsa for fins, 18mm engine mount with centering rings, two color decal sheet, launch lug and instruction sheet.

Availability: This kit is fairly common and inexpensive.
