Description: Estes Transtar Carrier model rocket kit #1982 was produced only during 1987 and 1988 with plastic black hang tag and a colorful facecard showing the Transtar Carrier rocket against a multi color background with blues, reds, greens that simulation a galatic sky. The Transtar Carrier is a simple 3FN build and rated as skill level 1 kit. Estes describes the Transtar Carrier as "Interstellar taxis may resemble this futuristic commercial starship with optional payload bay." The Transtar rocket is powered by 18mm engines and Estes estimates that the sport rocket is capable of flights up to 750 ft. Safe recovery is via a 12" parachute.
Kit Contents: The kit contains a main body tube, payload tube, plastic nose cone, die cut balsa for fins, 18mm engine mount with centering rings, multi color decal sheet, launch lug and instruction sheet.
Availability: The Transtar Carrier kit is available on eBay with little searching and is always popular. However, the kit packaging design for plastic hang tag kit has a solid white backing for more Estes marketing information. This solid backing does not allow the buyer to check for damaged components; so buyer must beware.
