Description: Horizontal image: pre-Damon Era Astron Drifter from mid 60's; I believe this kit variety with no hangtag was produced from 1965 through 1967. The facecard is also part of the instruction sheet. The facecard is illustrated with a red rocket outlined image over white background, the name "ASTRON DRIFTER" in black letters and a printed price of "$1.75".

Estes marketed the Drifter as having large parachute storage capacity with light weight design for long "drifting" recoveries. The kit features a body tube, balsa nose cone, a sheet of balsa stock for fins, engine mounting system, dual 12" and 24" plastic parachutes, launch lug, and instructions.
