Description: Early Mars Lander kit packaged in non gusset bag with yellow Pre Damon hang tag. The facecard is a typical two panel design from that era with black borders. The upper panel features a red to white transition background with Mars Lander image overlay, Estes logo and MARS LANDER in black letters.

Subsequent Pre Damon Mars Landers were packaged in a predominately red cardboard box. After the Damon acquisition, the Mars Lander is packaged in a black cardboard box and is fairly common.

The kit features two main body tubes and internal rings, five launch lugs, eight shock bands, two sheet of balsa fin stock, wood dowels, 4mm bearings, flexible hinges, engine mounting system, an 18" plastic parachute, and instructions.
