Description: Horizontal Image; early Pre Damon Era Astron Phantom from mid 1960s with white facecard that is also part of the instruction set. The white facecard shows the Phantom rocket in gray with ASTRON PHANTOM printed with red letters. Pricing is also print on white card as "$1.75". Kit marked as Astron without Estes kit number. The 1963 and 1964 catalogs listed the Phantom kit pricing at $2.00 while the 1966 catalog showed a reduced to $1.75 which is also consistent with the above kit's printed pricing.
The Phantom is a transparent body demonstration rocket for science fair projects or classroom use. The kit includes a cut out engine to show and explain the inner contents and their function during powered rocket flight.
The kit includes balsa nose cone, a clear body tube, parachute and instructions.
