Comments: A single die pair employed to strike 1885 San Francisco dimes. Since this is a key date bring a substantial premiun, beware of an added mintmark to 1885 Philadelphia dimes. On genuine 1885-S dimes, the Medium S mintmark is positioned to the right and slightly high as illustrated above.

This date is always under demand with VF or better specimens being R5 while the rarity estimate increases to R7 for true mint state examples.
