$1320 		Near Gem Original No Drapery Type, Splendid Frosty Luster, Multi-Color Patina, Above Average Eye Appeal, Newtown Collection. A splendid 1839 No Drapery F-101 offering with substantial bright light eye appeal. As usual, GFRC are woefully inadequate in capturing the vivid frosty luster and multi-color patina. Let's start with the toning. Upper obverse is toned an even rose with transition to orange-gold at the upper left periphery. The lower obverse, and especially the date area, are toned aquamarine blue. Reverse toning is mostly aquamarine-blue with a patch of intermixed rose from about 12:00 to 3:00. Bright light induced cartwheels are vibrant and enhance the toning. Surfaces are unabraded and pleasing along with a full strike. Accurately graded based on luster. Housed in PCGS Gen 6.0 holder with CAC approval. A superb duplicate offering from the Newtown Collection. December 1969
