Coins at this grade level are all about luster and toning, since surfaces will be consistently blemish-free, as is the case here. Deep aqua and burgundy obverse tones ring the brilliant, lustrous center, a most pleasing contrast, while the reverse is lightly toned in lilac with deeper russet in the legend. Luster bursts from both sides and effectively illuminates the attractive toning. CAC approval becomes increasingly harder to acquire with more important coins, but with this example it is no surprise. Housed in PCGS Gen 4.4 (2005-2011) holder with CAC approval. December 1969
