$1200 		Scarce in all Grades, Crusty Gray Patina, Near-Choice Original, Accurately Graded . 1878-S is the last difficult San Francisco Seated quarter date to acquire, with the 1888-S and 1891-S being more frequently encountered issues. Since inception, GFRC has been unable to keep this date is stock and believe this near-choice original offering will also have a short stay. A well preserved example with thick crusty gray patina on both sides. Bright light inspection exposes embedded olive/aquamarine. Strike is consistent with those seen. Two minor reverse rim anomalies hold this one back from a full Choice quality rating. Freshly graded and housed in PCGS Gen 6.0 holder. December 1969
