With Arrows Type, Eye Appeal of Higher Grade, Frosty Luster, Oregon Beaver Collection. This is a gorgeous example of the With Arrows type, featuring original surfaces with hints of rim toning. The obverse is brilliant silver while the reverse adds light gold and rose shades. The strike is sharp with neatly detailed stars and virtually complete feather detail. Frosty luster is abundant and we're calling this one JUST BUT IT NOW. CAC has approved just 21 pieces finer. Arrows were added to the subsidiary silver coinage in 1873-1874 to indicate a slightly heavier weight, 12.5 grams for the half dollar, compared with 12.44 grams under the Coinage Act of 1853. This is excellent example of the type, at a price point that won't break the bank. Housed in a PCGS Gen 5.0 Dupont hologram holder. December 1969
