Carson City, Nevada was a remote, frontier town in the heart of the Sierra Nevada mountains. As such, CC mintmarked coinage is the best representation of the Old West as a primitive, rough and tumble environment where fortunes were quickly made and lost. This CAC-approved 1873 With Arrows half is a is a thoroughly pleasing example, with even, original surfaces and rich toning. Fields are colored a medium crusty gray with contrasting central figures that exhibit lighter shades on the high points. A complete strike included well rounded stars and all available details for the reverse eagle and olive branch/arrows. About as original and satisfying as one could expect at the assigned grade.
