$225 		Medium Date, Residual Reflective Luster, Near-Choice Original, Newtown Collection. The medium date is readily distinguished by the 2 in the date, which is noticeably smaller than the adjacent 4, while these digits are equally sized on the small date variety. Neither are rare, but Liberty Seated collectors pride themselves on keeping their varieties straight! Medium golden shades blanket both sides, with hints of light blue in the obverse stars, which are highlighted by residual, steely gold luster. Marks are consistent with the grade, with the largest concentration above the eagle. The strike is typical with flatness in the stars, and the arrow fletching blending together. Housed in a PCGS Gen 4.4 (2005-2011) holder, note some haze is on the holder. December 1969
