A grossly underrated Civil War era $2.5 offering that warrants an immediate JUST BUY IT NOW recommendation. Why? There are a host of reasons! Mintage is a tiny 23,376 with only 10 certified at the AU55 level and a lone AU58 per PCGS population reports. The few Mint State survivors bring five figures. Fields and motifs are covered with thick mint front on both sides. Strike is typical for the date. Frosted luster glows under a bright light along with pretty orange-gold coloring. Checking the CAC population report, there is a lone piece approved at the AU55 grade level with a price guide number of $3000 which makes not sense given there are only three better.
