$950 		Low Overall CAC Population, Low Mintage, Brilliant Frosted Luster, Lizard King Collection. JUST BUY IT NOW! How is that for garnering attention to this 1889 low mintage $2.5 gold piece. Only 17,600 pieces were produced resulting in low certified populations and a minimal number being CAC approved. The assgined MS61 grade appears to be an injustice though CAC did not see the need for a Gold bean. Sparkling luster and swirling cartwheels are consistent with a higher grade. Marks are limited to a sole line in the left obverse field at the chin. That is it with PCGS being most conservative during the early grding years. Housed in PCGS Gen 3.0 (1990-1993) holder with CAC approval. December 1969
