One of the more spectacular errors in all of U.S. coinage, the 1844-O double date exhibits a bold repunched date well north of the usual placement. This attractive specimen is toned a uniform light gray with darker shades at the peripheries. New Orleans Seated coins come with a variety of striking characteristics, and this piece is typical with some softness on the left leg. Fields are moderately reflective which is typical of the issue.
