How I enjoy handling high end Standing Liberty quarters when unquestionably original as this 1917 Type 1 MS66 Full Head specimen. The micro-granular frosted luster glows with angled lighting. The creamy light golden-gray patina also screams originality along with mottled toning at the peripheries. Surfaces are absolutely pristine under 10x. Strike is hammered with bold head and shield rivets fully defined. If searching for that ultimate 1917 Type 1 piece for a type set, a close inspection might be warranted. I just don't often see this marvelous preservation state on silver coinage. Housed in PCGS Gen 6.1 holder with CAC approval. December 1969
