Market Acceptable $1275 Shattered Obverse, Top 100 Varieties Semi-Key Date, Golden Retoned Surfaces, So Close to Original, Accurately Graded, Cleveland Collection. Consignor Price Reduction. An important Top 100 Varieties offering to consider. Some history is in order. This is the second time that GFRC has handled this 1854-O Shattered Obverse dime that resides in a PCGS EF Details - Cleaning holder. Surfaces are slightly dull in appearance as would be expected for a silver piece graded EF. The entire dime is covered with a uniform golden patina that becoming darker at the rims. Again normal for an original silver coin. The issue is the golden toning that results when a dipped coin sits in a paper 2x2 envelope for many years. Some silver coins will acquire golden coloring rather than grays. This is the case here as the offered F-102 dime has no signs of any mechanical cleaning. Eye appeal is strong for the variety with bold shelf metal through the date. There are no blemishes whatsoever to mention. Housed in 2014 generation PCGS holder with PCGS Genuine Cleaning XF Cleaning label. From the Cleveland Collection with in hand inspection being recommended being drawing any negative conclusions.
