Pre-Whitman Baltimore Show Sale! Creamy Frosty Luster, Choice Original Surfaces, Peripheral Rose-Gold and Aquamarine Toning, Fully Struck, Jim Poston Consignment . The 1875-S WB-2 die variety can be easily attributed by heavy obverse die damage at upper shield down to the scroll. This scarce die variety is well represented by this attractively toned and well struck AU58 example. Struck from very late die states dies with heavy reverse crack through the legend and on the scroll lettering. In particular, a heavy vertical crack connects olive stem, mintmark and (O)F together. Obverse and reverse centers are mostly untoned but surrounded by thin peripheral rings of gold and aquamarine blue. Housed in PCGS Gen 6.0 holder. A noteworthy die variety offering from Jim Poston.
