 Gem $3000 Gem Original, Newtown Collection. Steely luster and vibrant cartwheels grace the surfaces of this With Arrows example. The obverse exhibits a splash of sea-green patina, while bits of original steel-gray color are present here and there. The only mark of note is a field tick inside of star 5. The strike is all there, with completely full head and bow detail. PCGS notes five pieces in MS65, with nine coins higher. This represents the final year of the With Arrows type, and, following the massive production spike in 1853, mintages fell considerably. The CAC guide value is $3,750. Housed in a PCGS Gen 4.6 (2013-2014) holder with CAC approval.
