This piece is richly toned, with even lilac and violet patina underlaying bits of pumpkin and lemon-gold color at the rims. Production of dimes in this year was substantial, over a million pieces, but many were no doubt melted as silver became more valuable in relation in gold, which was a result of massive discoveries of the yellow metal in the western United States. F-103, with a high date descending downward, and die flashing around the ribbon loops. The PCGS population report indicates 13 pieces in MS64, with seven examples finer.
