$1400 		Near-Gem Original, Newtown Collection. Steely surfaces reveal light, crusty gray patina with a few deeper shades at the rim, while the reverse reveals additional, even rose color. A few marks are hidden within the figure of Liberty. F-108, with an even date and the mintmark centered under the bow knot. The CAC pop report notes six pieces in MS64, six coins in MS65, and two examples in MS66. The CAC price guide value is $1,420. This is a pleasing example for the money, attractively toned and reasonably close to the top of the census. Housed in a PCGS Gen 6.1 (2020-2022) holder with CAC approval. December 1969
