Choice $3250 Choice Original, Wisconsin Gold Collection.. Yellow-gold color fills the fields of this largely untoned New Orleans ten, while remaining luster readily flows from the protected areas. Marbled flash betrays a few prooflike hints as the coin is tilted under a light. A healthy strike plainly defines the star centers and claw joints. Despite a mintage of just over a hundred thousand pieces, the price profile of the 1894-O is somewhat close to that of a type coin, especially in grades below MS63. Such opportunities are frequently encountered in the gold series, which is generally not collected by date and mintmark. CAC has certified 53 coins total, with five examples finer.
