 Choice $3650 Small Date, Low Mintage, Choice Surfaces, Green-Gold with Peripheral Copper, Osprey Collection. 1854 New Orleans $10 gold mintage was limited to 52,500 piece. The date is found with Small and Large Date varieties with the rarity edge assigned to the Small Date. Survivors of both varieties are known to be heavily abraded and unattractive. The Osprey Collection is back with a hand selected Small Date offering that features choice surfaces and above average eye appeal. This piece brings a base layer of greenish-gold coloring that is overlaid with peripheral orange-copper shades. Surfaces are so ever lightly abraded and certainly pleasing for the issue. A small die crack is seen through the light side of the 8 digit. Housed in PCGS Gen 6.0 (2015-2020) holder.
