 Choice $4350 Choice Original, Newtown Collection. Russet and sea-green patina mixes on the obverse of this Large Date example, while the reverse is less intensely toned. The strike is soft, with star points present if not fully sharp. A few lines in the left obverse field are noted. F-104, with digits touching the base, while the reverse die is perfect with no distinguishing characteristics. Philadelphia pieces of this date come with both large and small dates, while the branch Mint obverse dies all featured small digit punches. This piece is tied with two other coins for finest-known at CAC, which reports 24 pieces in all grades. The CAC guide value is $4,500. Housed in a PCGS Gen 6.0 (2015-2020) holder with CAC approval.
