Consignor Price Reduction. 1840 brought the third year of Liberty Seated dime production at the New Orleans mint with ongoing quality issues. The F-109a was struck during that period by eroded and cracked dies. As a result, the obverse device details are weakly defined, especially at the date. Multiple radial die cracks through the legend are noted on the reverse. This is an unquestionable crusty example with thick brownish gray patina. A new release from the City By The Bay Collection.
