 Original $1175 Strictly Original, Gray Patina, Minimal Wear, Massachusetts Collection. A later die state 1864 San Francisco strike with even gray toning and light rub on the lower leg and the reverse wheat stalks. Strike is adequate with all obverse devices well rendered except for typical weakness in hair details. A review of CoinFacts indicates only one 1864-S dime sold in AU50-AU55 grades since records are available. The lone example graded PCGS AU55 sold 11-2012 for $1410. A few examples are recorded in AU58 in the 2008 timeframe. This is an opportunity for an astute Liberty Seated dime set builder to acquire a difficult S mint date with bold devices at a competitive price. Housed in PCGS Gen 4.6 (2013-2014) holder.
