 Choice $2500 Choice Original, Steven Vitale Collection.. The superb 1858-S example should garner substantial attention and bidding. One of the three low mintage 1850s dates, choice survivors are terribly difficult to locate. This Vitale Collection lot is well beyond my expectations for the F-103 die pairing, usually seen with a weak obverse strike. Unabraded surfaces have been meticulously preserved while the toning is a natural rose-gray with peripheral gold highlights. Unquestionably original and deserving of aggressive bidding. Don't let this GFRC-Choice rating example get away! Housed in PCGS Gen 6.0 (2015-2020) holder.
