A truly special 1850 Dahlonega $2.5 offering from the Oregon Beaver Collection that exhibits a bold strike on both sides along with partial denticles at the upper and lower reverse. Under a bright light, the frosted luster is quite brilliant and pleasing. Cartwheels are present too. Mint bloom is seen surrounding the stars and legend. Fully impressed devices are elevated with high rims. Surfaces are essentially unabraded, with a single tick in the upper left obverse field visible within the supporting images. PCGS certified population is 20 at grade with 19 incremental in AU58 and a few MInt State examples. Tough not CAC approved, this piece is fully choice and worthy of inclusion into an advanced collection. Housed in PCGS Gen 6.0 (2015-2020) holder. December 1969
