$1650 		Small O, Rotated Reverse, New Orleans Collection. The 1844-O Seated half dime date does not secure the attention it deserves. Though mintage was 220,000, this date's survival rate is very low. For example, at the offer grade, PCGS has only certified four examples. This New Orleans Collection lot was struck with the Small O V-2 die pairing. The V-2 mintage is found with both coin and medal turn reverse die alignment. This example is the medal turn die alignment. Surfaces are toned an even coin gray with peripheral copper-gold that appears darker on the images. A well hidden line behind stars 3 and 4 preclude a GFRC-Choice quality rating. Otherwise, this lot is accurately graded and pleasing overalll. Housed in PCGS Gen 4.4 (2005-2011) holder. December 1969
