Choice $11500 Final Year Carson City Issue, Frosted Luster, Near Pristine Surfaces, Osprey Collection. As the final Carson City issue in the series, the 1893-CC ten is highly sought-after in all grades. The small 14,000 piece mintage ensures overall scarcity for surviving examples. CAC has approved 55 in all grades with roughly half being at the AU55/AU58 levels. In terms of 20th century coinage populations, there are few green bean stickered 1893-CC $10 gold to satisfy collector demand. The Osprey Collection is back with a really sweet example that is a pleasure to post to the GFRC price list. Abrasions are always an issue for larger gold pieces and the first attribute checked during a 10x review. This lot presents essentially unabraded surfaces that are a joy to examine. Also note is orange mint frost at the date, the denomination/mintmark, and the upper reverse that validates the strict originality. Overall coloration is a honey gold with hints of green-gold under a bright light. The consistent strike further enhances the charm. I'm going with a JUSY BUY IT NOW recommendation as Osprey has set an offer price below the $121,100 CAC price guide number. Housed in new large font NGC holder with CAC approval.
