$4875 		Rare in Mint State, Sharply Struck, Frosted Luster, Green-Gold Coloring, Oregon Beaver Collection. Consignor Price Reduction - The 1872 San Francisco issued $2.5 denomination was limited to 18,000 pieces. At this point experienced numismatist understand that San Francisco coinage promptly went into circulated and remained there for years. Mint State and high end AU survivor are difficult to come by in many series. The Oregon Beaver Collection has released a Mint State example that is quite eye catching. PCGS has certified only 11 pieces including this offering. A fully choice specimen with steely green-gold fields that overlaid by peripheral orange hues. Strike is 100% executed and so pleasing under a 10x. Abrasions are limited to one contact mark and nearly chatter on the reverse under the right facing wing. Overall, I'm more than happy to assign a Choice quality rating and enjoying handing this piece. Housed in PCGS Gen 6.1 (2020-2021) holder. December 1969
