Indeed, typical problem areas such as the feathers beneath the reverse shield are completely defined. The piece has been cleaned, and hairlines in the right obverse field are evident. There is also a strip of corrosion extending from the right facing wing toward R in TRUST. The piece remains one of less than a thousand proofs struck in this year, of which perhaps half have been lost, circulated, and otherwise no longer identifiable as proof strikes.
