This near-finest known example reveals crimson and lime patina across the figure of Liberty, while the reverse exhibits deep auburn and copper color to the right. The luster is strong as expected for the grade level, and the in-hand flash is readily apparent. F-113, with an upward slope in the date. Strike is typical, with softness in the bow. Note, diagonal lines on both sides indicate roller marks on the planchet, as struck. NGC has certified 139 coins total, with six examples at MS66 and only a single piece finer, at MS67. The NGC price guide value is $5,625 in MS66, not inexpensive, but a fair value for an attractively toned example near the top of the grading pyramid. Housed in a new large font NGC holder. PCGS #4609.
