$1100 		Scarce Date, Low Mintage, Light Copper-Gold, Choice Surfaces. 1867 does not officially constitute a "Civil War" year strike though the preceding low mintages continues into that year. Only 28,00 San Francisco minted pieces were struck resulting in the date being scarce to rare based on the certified grade. CAC has approved 37 in all grades with the majority being in the EF-AU grade range. This lightly worn example is strictly original with the expected light copper-gold coloration. Strike is typical with strong obverse details and a weak reverse. Surfaces are choice and essentially unabraded. Overall, a pleasing example that is ready for a CAC centric collection. Housed in new large font NGC holder with Long Island Collection pedigree on the label. December 1969
