One of the most dramatic terminal die states in the Liberty Seated dime series is the 1854-O F-102 with a completely shattered lower obverse. The obverse die has broken apart leaving a shelf metal ridge through the date digits and both arrows. This new Lakeland Collection example is consistent with the latest die states seen. A choice example with ebony-gray toning that exposes rose device shades under a bright light. The surfaces are remarkably free of abrasions regardless of the extended time in circulation. Part of the Top 100 Varieties set for those so inclined. Housed in a PCGS Gen 6.1 (2020-2023) holder. The label does not capture the die variety attribution, however this variety is well known and recognized as such.
