Choice $4100 Near-Gem, Satiny Luster, Fully Struck, Delightful Honey-Gold. Following the very rare 1908-S issue with a mintage of only 22,000 struck, 1909 saw a more normal mintage for that period. 1909-S Saints are recognized for being well struck and exhibiting granular frosted luster to extends up to the satiny level as is the case here. This is gorgeous honey-gold example that is highly detailed, especially at Liberty's head and face. Surfaces are well preserved and consistent with the certified grade.
