The Lasalle Collection release moves into the Barber half dollar series with this light golden-gray 1892-S lot. The date is recognized as being scarce in high circulated grades and rare in Mint State. PCGS has only certified 39 at the offered grade, a low number given a mintage of slightly over a million. This lot is notable for residual frosted luster during a check under angled lighting. Wear is equally seen on the devices and also in the fields. Limited strike doubling is seen on the lower reverse at the mintmark and HAL(F DO)L. Housed in PCGS Gen 4.4 (2005-2011) holder.
