$1300 		Challenging Date, Original, Saw Mill Run Collection.. Continuous silvery-gray toning is highlighted by residual mint frost surrounding the stars on this 1873 San Francisco issue. Under a bright light, steely reflectance is evident while the strike is close to complete. With a mintage of only 228,000, this half dollar date becomes very scarce in AU with EF45 being an excellent value point. PCGS has certified 26 at the offered grade with a price guide mark of $1225 which is conservative. Housed in PCGS Gen 6.1 (2020-2024) holder. PCGS #6345. December 1969
