Choice $420 Low Mintage, Limited Availability, Choice Original, Lakeland Collection. Consignor Price Reduction. The 1882 three cent nickel mintage amounted to only 22,200 pieces as the Philadelphia mint ramped down this design and denomination. This date is scarce and difficult to locate in all grades. The Lakeland Collection has released a choice and accurately graded example with dirty pewter coloration. One must grade this issue by the reverse as the obverse comes weakly struck as a rule. Note the filled "2" digit in the date and unabraded surfaces. Housed in newer NGC holder with edge view insert.
