$3150 		Near-Gem Original, New Orleans Collection.. Charles Barber's 1892 quarter and half dollar coinage designs reintroduced the Great Seal, the principal national symbol, to the American public. The emblem is better exhibited by the half dollar reverse, which provided additional workspace for the multiple elements. The frosty surfaces of this example reveal generous luster, which complements the antique silver patina on both sides. Halos of light russet color frame the central figures, and the eye appeal is compelling. CAC notes 42 pieces in all grades, with six pieces finer. The CAC price guide value is $3,000. Housed in a PCGS Gen 4.5 (2012-2013) holder with CAC approval.
