Choice $500 Near-Gem Original, Island City Collection.. Frosty silver surfaces admit a fine mist of slate patina, particularly on the reverse. Ample flash quickly activates under a light, consistent with the assigned grade. The stars are fully struck with defined centers, typical for this series, which in general exhibits strikes superior to Liberty Seated coinage, no surprise as coining technology advanced considerably since the 1830s. The CAC census includes 66 coins overall, with 14 pieces at MS64 and 24 examples finer. The CAC price guide value is $455. Housed in PCGS Gen 6.1 (2020-2022) holder with CAC approval.
