Choice $475 Scarce New Orleans Date, Crusty Golden-Gray, New Orleans Collection. An attractively toned and scarce 1896-O dime with a mintage of only 610,000 and courtesy of the New Orleans Collection. This survivor is nicely preserved by a thick golden-gray skin that reveals olive hues under a bright light. There are two ancient and well hidden lines on the obverse that blend into the surrounding and do not bother me, thus a Choice quality rating being assigned.
