Choice $575 New March 7! Tough New Orleans Issue, Sparkling Frosted Luster, Choice Surfaces, New Jersey Collection. Among the New Orleans struck Barber halves, the 1903-O is one of the tougher issues to locate. This lot is typical of GFRC offerings whereby the images are unable to illustrate the sparkling frosted luster that is readily appears under a bright light. Both sides exhibit consistent mint bloom with heightened radiance at the peripheries. In-hand coloration is intermixed green-gold that is transparent to the underlying luster. Strike is typical for the issue. A fully choice example that has not been submitted to CAC by either the consignor or GFRC. Housed in PCGS Gen 4.4 (2005-2011) holder.
