Consignor Price Reduction - A compelling "open collar" 1820 Capped Bust dime with attractive ring toning along with being the scarce JR-8 die variety. The GFRC images accurately illustrate the bright light induced coloration which is clearly where this dime excels. Steely-frosted fields are noted on both sides and are overlaid with a color wheel of pastel hues. Center greens are surrounded by orange-gold before transitioning to peripheral blues on the obverse while the reverse features a rose to edge pastel rings of rainbow shades. The JR-8 reverse has a notable die crack from the eagle's neck to left facing wing. Also the left base of the second T in STATES is missing. Serious fans of the early dimes should take note of this offering. Housed in new large font NGC holder.
