$500 		Near Gem Original, Wonderful Eye Appeal, Deep Blue-Rose Patina, Frosty Cartwheel Luster, Fully Struck, Accurately Graded, Upstate New York Collection. Brights light vewing is where all the fun is for this wonderful 1850 Seated half dime. Well preserved mint state surfaces offer frosty cartwheel luster but key is the gorgeous blue-rose radial toning. GFRC images are very accurate color wise and just imagine that blue patina melting into light roses and golden hues under a light source. The transition is stark and so pleasing. Strike fully executed with high relief obverse stars and full head details. The left reverse wreath leaves could be just a tad stronger but that may be too demanding for this date. Die polish lines are seen at the date and moving diagonally into the base. Abrasion wise, there are a few toned over micro ticks in the left obverse field of no consequence. Housed in old NGC holder with standard ring insert. Another attractively toned offering that we have come to expect from the Upstate New York Collection. Frankly, the new owner should have this piece reholdered to allow more natural light to reach the surfaces.
