 Choice $500 With Drapery, Choice Original, Tenafly Collection.. 1840 With Drapery dimes are always in demand due to much lower availability than earlier No Drapery counterparts. It appears that few collectors paid attention to the 1840 design hub transition. Instead, the mintage circulated heavily leaving just a handful of true Mint State examples for modern day collectors. This VF25 graded example is well preserved after spending a fair amount of time in circulation. Fields are toned a natural gray while wear points have much lighter coloring. The result is circulated cameo eye appeal for those who are so inclined. Surfaces are unabraded, another important factor contributing to overall eye appeal. The CAC price guide is $460 as reference.
