Choice $2200 Elusive Date, Steely-Frosted Luster, Choice Overall, Scenic Lakeview Collection. 1893 Philadelphia mintage amounted to 389,000 pieces with the usual availability increase coming in the late 1950s and early 1960s due to Treasury bag releases. This date remains a bit elusive as compared to the many "common" dates. This piece is accurately graded with pleasing steely-frosted luster and swirling cartwheels. There is micro chatter in the obverse fields that is consistent with the certified grade. The 1893 example in the Scenic Lakeview Collection and worthy of that role. Housed in PCGS Gen 6.1 (2020-2023) holder. The reverse side of holder has center haze that can be readily seen with the image.
