Choice $600 Series Key Date, Low Mintage, Choice Original, Lakeland Collection. The 1913-S Type 2 Buffalo issue was limited to only 1,209,000, the third lowest mintage of the Buffalo nickel series, and results in a key date status. This newly consigned example is a pewter0gray with light tan-gold toning on the lower obverse and upper reverse. That toning is enhanced by GFRC photography and not immediately seen when viewing the coin in-hand. Light wear is evident on the high point while the surfaces are unabraded other than a single contact mark above the buffalo. Housed in PCGS Gen 6.1 (2020-2023) holder.
