Frosty luster with moderate cartwheels radiates from the silver surfaces of this better variety, with additional smoky grey shades dappled across the reverse. Original Mint bloom is especially evident in the protected areas. A few micro ticks are present in the right obverse field, but the overall eye appeal is excellent. WB-102, with 855 in the date recut over 854. Remnants of the initially punched digits are plainly seen within the date, even in this early die state, and die polish is evident, a clear sign the coiner attempted to correct the misplaced date. This is a popular variety, listed in the Guide Book and commanding a premium in comparison to the Normal Date variety. Housed in a PCGS Gen 6.0 (2015-2020) holder. December 1969
