$885 		New April 22! Sharp Mirrors, Pastel Rose-Gold Under Bright Light, CAC Approved, Port Matilda Collection. 1905 Barber proof quarter mintage totaled 727 pieces. Certified cameo survivors are rare and bring large premiums over non-designated examples. Astute collectors should be carefully considering these non-cameo certified examples for locating those with borderline features. This Port Matilda release has aspirations for the cameo designation with sharp mirrored reflectance in the fields while the center devices are ever so lightly frosted. Under a bright light, the greyish in-hand appearance shifts to light pastel rose. blue, and gold shades. The reverse is pristine and entirely without hairlines. There are several stray micro-lines on the cheek as seen with a 10x leading to the conservative grade. CAC noted the eye appeal of a higher grade and rewarded accordingly. Housed in PCGS Gen 3.1 (1993-1998) old green holder with CAC approval.
